Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

Cel mai mare muzician cu care Pakistan se lauda, incepe intai cu muzica Qawwali si continua prin a impresiona publicul prin voce, versuri si talentul de a compune muzica. Considerat unul dintre cei mai mari cantareti, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan atinge 6 octave si uimeste publicul larg prin performanta de a canta timp de ore in sir fara pauza. In 2006 revista Time il claseaza in topul „Asian Heroes”.

Site-ul Pakistani Music il numeste pe Nusrat ca fiind un Bob Marley al Pakistanului, una dintre cele mai impresionante voci ale timpului despre care se va pomeni mult timp de acum incolo:

„He was the Bob Marley of Pakistan. He was the Elvis of the East. He was Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and was considered as one of the greatest Qawwals in the world. Khan had made a great impression on the music scene with his mix of Eastern poetic music with that of the West.

Khan departed from this sphere on the 16th of August 1997, and will be missed immensely by his fans all across the globe. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s last live performance was in Karachi, Pakistan at the Karachi Gymkhana Club.„
